Map of Kenya

A map of Kenya – particularly a tourist one – is indispensable to making your Kenya Safari hugely rewarding because it lays out all the tourist hotcakes and puts them in a geographic perspective.

Kenya, an East African country whose capital is Nairobi, straddles the equator and is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Sudan to the northwest, Uganda to the west, Tanzania to the south, Somalia to the east and the Indian Ocean to the southeast.

Kenya Tourist Map

The major tourist destinations are dotted over the whole country with Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu – all famous for their dazzling white beaches and stunning coral reefs – being located in the southwest.

The most popular wildlife havens are Maasai Mara found in the southwest, Amboseli which lies almost directly south of Nairobi toward the Tanzanian border, Tsavo, which is further east and Samburu, which is further up in central Kenya.

The gigantic Mount Kenya, which is Africa's second highest peak, is situated a little north of Nairobi while Kakamega Forest - Kenya's only rain forest is located in the west, north of Lake Victoria, the world's second largest lake and the source of the Nile River, the world's longest.
